Cremation and transfer of ashes options

Frequently asked questions about the cremation and transfer of ashes service
How much does it cost to renew a burial grant?
The price of renewal depends on the length of the original grant and the cemetery regulations. We recommend that you consult us for specific information.
Does the price of the grave include maintenance?
Not always. In many cases, maintenance is an additional cost that must be contracted on a long-term basis.
What documentation do I need to contract a burial service?
You will need the death certificate and municipal permits. In some cases, additional documentation such as religious authorisations may also be required.
What is the difference between a grave and a niche in a cemetery?
A grave is a space in the ground, while a niche is a vertical compartment, generally used for urns or coffins in elevated structures.
Why can the price of burials vary?
The space required for a cemetery grave is not the same as for a grave for ashes. Therefore, the price of the burial can change. Other factors also have an influence, such as municipal taxes, the length of the concession of the space, the additional funeral services that are contracted (maintenance, for example) or the rates of each funeral company.
At Stelae, not only can you take out a direct cremation service, but we can also take care of other matters such as the transfer of ashes inside and outside Spain.
